Soap Roots 🫧 🧼

Have you ever felt like you’ve gotten away from your roots?  

Do you feel lost?  

Maybe you feel like you are just wondering?  

The Purple Sage started from a love of making soap from scratch.  

Choosing what goes into each batch.  What luxurious oils or butters? Nothing gunky. 

I mean once it's soap, it’s soap…who needs all that extra “stuff” added to your soap.

Making soap is where I started, making soap has been my passion. I can remember as a child making “liquid soap” from leftover soap scraps and water.  

Can I explain all the chemical stuff, sorta, but that’s not what floats my boat.  

I love explaining how the soap is made, how it has great fluffy lather…and the fact that it’s gonna feel great on your skin…and your skin is gonna say aaaahhh.  

That’s what I LOVE!

Soap making became more than soap making, it became a business and grew into a brand with wonderful products.  

If I do say so myself, I consider the lotion I formulated one of the best on the market. It does what a good lotion is supposed to do, sink into your skin and keep you moisturized, without any greasiness. 

A lotion is not supposed to sit on top of the skin, that’s just yuck.

I also created a unique product (there’s nothing like it out there) called Bubbleaux bubble bath. 

It’s a safe option for adult bubble baths and with a relaxing Bubbleaux bubble bath anything is possible.

I adore this product!

I love taking bubble baths. I love that it feels so silky on my skin when I use it. Can you tell I’m really proud of this product?!

But SOAP! Soap is where my roots are.  

Have I had some failures? You betcha! 😤  

There was the time I made a soap boat anchor ⚓️…no kidding.  

I almost lost my stick blender in that soap batter that quickly became a soap boat anchor.  

Rock hard in no time!  

Was there a lesson? Yep…never use that fragrance oil (fragrance oils can alter formulas) again, and I haven’t.  

Are there ugly batches, or batches that don't turn out like I envisioned? Oh yeah.  

But here’s the thang about soap…even if it’s a boat anchor, ugly or not what I envisioned, it’s still soap and it will still get you clean…all the while still being gentle on your skin.

I haven’t even touched the surface of some really cool designs for soap making. 

I have done swirls, and curls…but yall, there is so much more that can be done.  

I’m toying with the idea of a few new designs in the near future. The option of what color goes with what scent, this makes me happy.

This is what I mean by getting back to your roots.

The love and art of soap making.  

Did I just call soap art, yep I did. Soap making is an art, and I’m an artist.  

Gotta love that!
