Get Out of Your Comfort Zone 💪🏻
Comfort zones, let’s talk about that for a minute.
Stepping outside of your comfort zone.
We all know it’s a scary place to be, that’s why it’s called a “comfort zone”. Well, because it’s comfortable.
But I did just that this past week.
I picked up the phone and called The Boot CrossFit.
I went for an exploratory meeting.
Right off the bat, in the parking lot, women whom I don’t know were waving to me!
I spent an hour and a half just talking to the owner/coach/trainer.
This is what I was looking for…a place that feels like I belong here.
I didn’t have to make the awkward first move…people welcomed me in!
Next was orientation.
A simple questionnaire/assessment. Then a physical assessment.
I am proud to say I did better than I thought I would, considering I haven’t done much physical activity in years.
My first class was amazing…again, everyone was so welcome and inviting. I didn’t feel out of place at all.
Actually met a lady that I used to deliver packages to, when I worked for FedEx.
I know now this is where I belong.
Can’t wait to go again. And to feel like I sorta know what I’m doing.
That way I won’t walk around on jello legs and shaking arms.
I have to let you in on a little secret of mine. Back in my younger days, I wanted to be a bodybuilder.
But when I found out you had to eat veggies…I chose not to.
Cause back in the day, this chick didn’t eat veggies.
My, my how things have changed. I love veggies now!
Will I become a bodybuilder…eh, who knows. Stay tuned for sure.
Bye bye comfort zone…take the chance, step out of it, and maybe it’ll be just what you need.
