Christmas 🎄in July

It's holiday soapmaking time!

And I’ve got all the Christmas music playing in the studio.

Yeah, I know what you are thinking, no way!

I'm not pushing the holidays this early...but for soapmaking NOW is the perfect time.

Let me tell you why.

Making it doesn't take a lot of time, but the magic is in the curing.

If you have used any of my soaps, you know they have the best skin-loving ingredients.

A healthy dose of olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter and cocoa butter, and avocado oil.

And for a hard bar and luxurious lather, palm kernel flakes and castor oil.

I blend all of these nutrient-rich ingredients and let the saponification process take place.

Saponification is simply the process of making soap, where the lye water and the oils combine creating a lovely bar of soap.

There is NO lye left in the soap (we can talk about that later).

In order for the bars to harden, they must cure.

Ever had a bar of real soap just sorta melted in your hand?

That’s because it wasn’t cured long enough.

Curing allows all the excess water to evaporate out so that you have a hard long-lasting bar!

So, my soap cures for no less than 8 weeks. That’s why I start making your holiday soaps during the hot summer months.

Christmas in July!  😉🎄
