Castor oil is the queen of lather. Just the right amount of this oil is used in our formula for it's skin lubricating and moisturizing properties.
Cocoa Butter
We use pure unrefined cocoa butter. It's a rich buttery yellow with a heavenly cocoa scent. Cocoa Butter lays down a protective layer on the skin that holds moisture to the skin, thus making it a good skin softener. Contributes hardness to the bar.
Coconut
Coconut oil contributes hardness and superior cleansing to bar soap. It's ability to be moisturizing and to add big bubble lather make it a must in soap. Too much coconut can produce a drying bar. We use just the right amount.
Olive
Olive oil is wonderful for skin care and brings it's skin conditioning properties to our bars. Olive oil is said to be an excellent skin moisturizer and attracts external moisture to the skin. We use the same pure, high quality olive oil in our soap that we use for cooking.
Palm Kernel
Palm kernel oil combined with coconut oil produce a very hard and long lasting bar of soap with beautiful lather. Palm kernel oil used in the proper proportions contributes moisturizing properties.
Shea Butter
This rich butter from central Africa is used for protection and care of skin that is cracked and dehydrated by the harsh elements in this desert climate. In bar soap, this exotic butter adds a rich, silky feel and skin soothing qualities. Shea butter is high in unsaponifiables. In laymen's, terms this means that part of the shea butter is not converted to soap and remains free in the bar to perform it's skin soothing and moisturizing functions.
Rice Bran Oil
Rice Bran Oil is wonderful for skin care and has a profile close to that of Olive Oil. It provides a welcome addition to our skin nourishing oils and butters. We buy ours right here in Arkansas from the largest rice producing co-op in the U.S.
